Día de los Muertos

  • Mexican Cultural Institute 2829 16th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

Festejo de Día de los Muertos has become a NOW tradition! In addition to the performance of Brahms’ Requiem, this special evening includes a post-concert reception, catered by Angeles Catering with wine curated by Grand Cata.

Día de los Muertos, Spanish for “Day of the Dead,” is a beloved Mexican holiday where family and friends gather to pray and remember those who have died and help support their spiritual journey. During this time, the Mexican Cultural Institute in DC creates an elaborate ofrenda—a collection of objects placed on a ritual display—creating the perfect backdrop and inspiration for NOW’s annual Día de los Muertos concert.

Come celebrate life and remember those who have passed before us with this beautiful display of sight and sound with the powerful performance of Brahms' Requiem, featuring Laura Choi Stuart, soprano, Brian Mextorf, baritone, and Choral Arts Society of Washington's Chamber Singers.
